Token
Objectives/Pain Points to Solve:
How can we create a fair and decentralized allocation distribution system such that genuine contributors and users stand to benefit the most from Ramen?
How can we create the best user experience for token launches on Berachain?
How can we accrue and distribute value derived from the growth of Ramen to platform users, contributors, and community members fairly?
$RAMEN: Decentralizing Token Allocation Distribution
Our primary goal is to ensure that token allocations–essentially the right to purchase tokens–are distributed to genuine, engaged users rather than to sybil farmers and bots. To achieve this, we aim to create an efficient and decentralized system for allocation control and distribution. Here's why it matters:
Challenges with Traditional Allocation Distribution
In both centralized and decentralized token launch platforms, allocation distribution is often governed by either opaque processes (such as KYC, platform activity, or off-chain queue systems) or uncontrolled free-market methods (such as FCFS or fair launches). These methods typically lead to two significant issues.
Unpleasant user experience: Genuine users may struggle to participate in token launches due to botting activity, which can diminish community engagement and loyalty.
Token distribution inequity: Sybil farming can lead to a disproportionate concentration of tokens among a few wallets, potentially destabilizing token prices and undermining the project's long term success and governance.
Our Solution with $RAMEN
To address these challenges, we are using a native platform utility token, $RAMEN, to decentralize allocation distribution. This approach aims to ensure that the benefits of Ramen's growth are shared among users, contributors, and community members.
To reserve allocation in upcoming launches, users are required to lock $RAMEN to receive a gRAMEN
position. This requirement introduces a cost for acquiring $RAMEN, making it less feasible for individuals to farm allocations using multiple new empty wallet accounts.
This also implies that early users of Ramen would be enjoying allocation at a lower cost basis on average compared to latecomers, thus incentivizing early participation.
Introducing gRAMEN: Decentralizing Governance and Value Accrual
Governance $RAMEN, or gRAMEN
, represents our strategy to transition governance of Ramen to the community. This shift will allow the platform to adapt to the evolving liquidity needs of new protocols more effectively.
The presence of an on-chain position also potentially open up a myriad of exciting opportunities for gRAMEN
holders – it is possible to whitelist gRAMEN
holders for Airdrop Recipes to receive token airdrops from participating protocols, or use the real yield to create a launchpool-style product to earn new tokens in the future. The possibilities are endless.
TL;DR: Benefits of Holding gRAMEN
gRAMEN
Reserve allocation: Earn Gacha to reserve allocation in Curated Launches
Governance participation: Vote on protocol policies
Potential airdrops: Potentially receive token airdrops from exciting new protocols
